Skill360 wins Australian Apprenticeship Support contract

Skill360 is very pleased to announce that it has been appointed a Network Provider for the Australian Government’s new generation of Apprenticeship Centres, the Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN).

The successful bid was a partnership with established Southport apprenticeship services provider BUSY At Work, who Skill360 have had a strong working relationship with over the past year as part of our current Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC) contract.

Under the new contract, Skill360 will be delivering AASN services in the North and Central Queensland areas which will see the opening of offices in Rockhampton, Mackay and Emerald.

What is the AASN?

Effective from 1 July this year, the new AASN will make it easier for employers to recruit, train and retain apprentices and will better support individuals in a proven earning and learning pathway, helping improve completion rates.

There are many details yet to be released but in the meantime, it is business as usual for our dedicated AAC staff who will continue to provide the same great service and support to help you employers and apprentices.

Skill360 is looking forward to being part of the AASN and continuing to achieve successful outcomes for employers and apprentices.

The Sign Up Process

Contact Skill360 Australia Apprenticeship Services on 1300 933 358 and we’ll make a time that is suitable to come to your business to start the formalities of completing the Training Contract. At this time we will go through the responsibilities so that both yourself and the Australian Apprentice understands how the Training Contract works and what is expected of both parties.

At this visit you and the Australian Apprentice will decide who will be the Supervising Registered Training Provider. We can provide a list of Registered Training Providers that are available to deliver the training in the qualification that the Apprentice is being signed up in.

Skill360 Australia Apprenticeship Services will register all the details of the Training Contract with the State Training Authority. Skill360 Australia Apprenticeship Services will register the details of your National Training Contract with the Queensland State Training Authority, known as the Department of Education, Training and Employment (DETE). The State Training Authority will send you and your employee a letter confirming that the apprenticeship or traineeship has been registered.

Once you have selected who you would like to deliver the training, that Supervising Registered Training Organisation (SRTO) will contact you to organise a time to meet you and the Apprentice and develop the training plan. The SRTO will also provide support throughout the apprenticeship or traineeship to ensure the training stays on track. The SRTO can also help you with assessment issues, recognition of prior learning, literacy and numeracy support.

As your Australian Apprenticeship Centre we will administer the process of payment of Government financial incentives that you may be entitled to. The incentives become due at various stages throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship and we will communicate with you at those times to organise the paperwork. You can see the list of financial incentives available to eligible employers here.

During the term of the Apprenticeship or Traineeship, our friendly and experienced staff will communicate with you at various time frames to ensure that everything is on track and progressing well. You can also request a visit anytime if you have any concerns or questions, just remember, we’re here to help you and your apprentice every step of the way.

When the SRTO, you and your Australian Apprentice collectively agree that all of the training plan requirements have been completed, then your apprentice is ready to be completed and issued with their qualification. All parties to the Training Contract then sign a completion agreement. The SRTO will send the completion agreement to the DETE. The Department will then issue the formal nationally recognised qualification certificate.
