Are there any entry requirements?
This qualification is delivered under the Australian Apprenticeship Program. Students must be employed in an apprenticeship to undertake this training program.
Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to be supplied by each apprentice (Protective footwear, long sleeve shirt, safety glasses and hearing protection) as well as a calculator, pen and paper.

What are the course fees?
This qualification is delivered under the Australian Apprenticeship Program. Students must be employed in an apprenticeship to undertake this training program. Training is funded through the Department of Education, Training and Employment’s User Choice Policy. Student contribution fees will apply. The fees listed below will change if elective units chosen are outside of the standard course offer. Eligibility criteria applies for concession rate.

Which subjects make up this course?
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must demonstrate competency in 30 units of competency: 22 core units and eight elective units.
The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context.
Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement.
