Alexander Body Works & Skill360 promote work experience and trades to schools

On Tuesday 17th October, Alexander Body Works in Townsville hosted a site familiarisation with Skill360.

Local VET Coordinators from Townsville region High Schools were invited, along with industry representatives, and Department of Aboriginal Torres Strait Island Partnerships (DATSIP).

Alexander Body Works is a family owned business – the event was hosted by brothers, Anthony & Michael. It was fantastic to talk to their father Con, who founded the business in 1978 and is still working in the business!

The site familiarisation was an eye opener – the technology in the paint & panel industry is phenomenal.

As you can see in the photos Alexander Body Works have an amazing workshop – a purpose built workshop, state of the art equipment & modern work stations.

Skill360 & Alexander Body Works is currently seeking applications from Year 12 students who have a passion for the automotive industry.

We encourage Year 12 students to arrange work experience before the 12th of November to ensure they are covered by their school’s insurance.
Skill360 and Alexander Body Works have apprenticeships available to commence at the end of the school year, and this is a great way to see if the industry is what you expected!

As you can see in the photos – science, math’s and physics all play a part in the role of a modern spray painter or panel beater.
