When Ross Mangano, owner of Rosscos Shop and Office Fitters, ordered a new panel saw for his business, his first thoughts on what to do with his old Griggio panel saw was to donate it to Skill360, a Registered Training Organisation. Ross’s son Angelo is a 3rd year apprentice undertaking his cabinet making qualification through Skill360.

Ross recognised the impact that Skill360 played in shaping his son’s future, as well as other young people seeking a career path. Ross has seen firsthand the commitment Skill360, a Registered Training Organisation (RTO:1607), has in providing industry-relevant training that will set apprentices up for success.

Ross said, “When I ordered a new saw for my business, I knew exactly where the old one belonged.

“Skill360 has played a crucial role in shaping Angelo’s future, and I’ve seen firsthand their commitment to skilling the next generation of professionals. Donating the saw was an easy decision.”

BUSY Skills (which incorporates RTO’s Skill360 and One Stop Training, as well as Group Training Organisation, Smart Apprenticeship Solutions), is a part of The BUSY Group. By employing active, industry-experienced trainers, BUSY Skills provides relevant training and apprenticeship management that employers are seeking.

Paying it Forward

BUSY Skills were touched by the donation of the saw to support their student training and, in the spirit of the giving season, decided to ‘pay it forward’ by donating their old Griggio panel saw to the Cairns Show Society.

Ian Moller-Nielsen, Secretary of the Cairns Show Society said of the donation, “The Cairns Show Society is an integral part of the local community, through this donation this will enable a more efficiency in regards to cuts whether it would be for routine maintenance, benches or tackling other woodworking projects.

“The donation will help in many ways especially when we have builders come in, they will be able to use a proper saw. The Cairns Show Society is looking forward to a continuous partnership with Skill360 and BUSY Skills!”

Noel Slade – Cabinet Making trainer at Skill360 said, “We’re thrilled that the saw will be put to good use and will not only help the Cairns Show Society but also the wider community.”
