Earn while you learn – a smart career move! Undertaking an apprenticeship or traineeship gives you the opportunity to earn money while gaining a certified qualification and real-life work skills.

What kind of apprenticeship or traineeship?

With over 500 qualifications to choose from in over 50 industries (including Animal Care, Business, Building & Construction, Creative Design, Hospitality, Engineering and more), there is bound to be one to suit you. Find a course qualification and a suitable RTO on MySkills.gov.au

How long does it take?

A full time apprenticeship will give you a trade certification (eg plumber, chef or hairdresser) and generally takes between 3-4 years. A traineeship is for non-trade professions (eg business, retail etc.) and take between 1-2 years full time.

No, as long as you are employed as a permanent and not casual, you can work part time or full time hours, combining your work with study.

How much do I get paid?

Pay rates vary depending on the industry and increase at different periods or skill levels during your training. Modern Awards establish minimum conditions across Australia. Find out more at www.fairwork.gov.au

How do I sign up?

If you know what kind of qualification you want to gain, we can help match you with a host employer in that industry. We assist with the paperwork, helping you find a registered training organisation and more.

Where can my qualification take me?

Once you complete all requirements of your study you will gain a nationally-recognised qualification which can open doors to further work and career opportunities or pathways into university.
